The Age of Decadence is a game with a very unique setting (post-apocalyptic, Roman Empire) that was created with a very niche market of hardcore, Euro, RPG gamers in mind. That being said, the tone of the game was very difficult to nail down, and by the time I began work on the project, the Irontower Studio team had already collaborated with three other composers. The team had a specific vision in mind that was not being realized in the music department, and though the pressure was quite suddenly stacked against me, we all worked closely together and I was able to give them exactly what they wanted. The result was a wonderful work of art, blending elements of traditional folk music, experimental ambiance and modern epic scores.
